So I know I have some explaining to do. I’m so sorry I’ve been neglecting the site lately. I’m in my third year of college, working, and student-teaching all at once, so I have very little free time, if any. I try to log in a few times a week, which is a big change from what I used to do, which was logging in at least once a day. I will try to improve and log in more, time permitting.

Anyway, two weeks ago was the Mods meeting. We discussed site activity, the Mod team, changing the featured story (which I’m still trying to figure out how to do), and a new challenge.

The Mod team has undergone some changes in recent weeks. For starters, please welcome KawaiiKiro back to the team! She took a few months off, but now she’s back and ready to help. Also, Beautifully Meaningful and The Muse have both been promoted to admin status (second in command). Those two lovely ladies have helped keep the site alive, and I definitely could not run CBF without them.

So, to liven things up a bit, we devised a new challenge! Introducing… The Coming of Spring Challenge!

Here are the rules:
~You must submit your story to the official challenge.
~The story must have between 1-4 chapters.
~It must have a spring theme, whether that be spring break related, or just the season changing.
~Deadline for submissions will be Friday March 9th!
~Only completed stories submitted by the deadline will be eligible.
The prize: Author of the Month March 2012

Finally, if you ever think I’m slacking off or missing something, like the poll for example, feel free to contact me. With my schedule, I often have a difficult time remembering all the things I need to do in a day or week. So if you see something that needs attention, tell me. The Muse and Beautifully Meaningful have both already been doing this, but I’d love to hear from more of you too. Email the site’s email address, or post onto the site’s Facebook page. I hope the new year is off to a good start already. I apologize for being absent from the site a lot more than I used to be, but as I am in my 3rd year of college, I have more school work than ever before.

Anyway, back in December a lot of our site's amazing authors contributed to the 2011 Winter Wonderland Challenge and a winning entry was chosen! All of the entries were fabulous, so congratulations to all participants.

So the winner of the 2011 Winter Wonderland Challenge is The Muse! Her story, The Snow King was chosen as the favorite! Congrats to The Muse!
